Iain Anderson is a graduate of New Saint Andrews College (BA and Certificate of Music, 2024). He has been playing oboe for fourteen years, and he loves teaching people to love the oboe and play excellently. Iain’s teaching method balances solo repertoire with technical studies (such as those of Gekeler, Edlefson, and Rubank). Iain can be found playing oboe for various ensembles in Moscow, ID, and he also enjoys singing in choir, conducting choir and orchestra, and composing music. Beyond music, Iain enjoys his work at a local startup, fellowship with friends, good books, and athletics.

Annabelle Berube
Piano Instructor
Annabelle Berube is a Sophomore at New Saint Andrews College enjoying her second year in the Conservatory of Music. Annabelle has been playing piano for fourteen years and began teaching private piano lessons two years ago, hoping to develop in her students not only the ability to read music, but also good practice habits and diligence that will carry them beyond their schooling years. Although she mostly plays classical music, Annabelle has also enjoyed being the secondary pianist at her home church, playing for services and psalm sings since she was a freshman in high school.

Jackie graduated from New Saint Andrews in 2016 and has been part of Moscow's musical community for over fifteen years. While teaching private lessons for the last ten years, she has since completed the Level 1 Suzuki Teacher Training at the Cheneniah Summer Music Institute. She hopes to continue streamlining her musicianship and skills. She has particularly enjoyed performing with the NSA Orchestra since its beginning and has grand plans to join the Washington-Idaho Symphony someday.

Kayla Erb
Voice Instructor
Kayla Erb is from Moscow, Idaho, and is a New Saint Andrews College graduate with a BA in Liberal Arts & Culture. With over seven years of dedicated vocal study, she has performed widely in oratorio and cantata repertoire, including Bach’s Mass in B Minor, Handel’s Messiah, and Respighi’s Lauda per la Natività del Signore. In 2025, she made her operatic debut as Susanna in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro before auditioning for and being accepted into the Vienna Summer Music Festival, where she studied under renowned artists and performed in the world premiere of Pluto. She also serves regularly as the soprano soloist for The Cantus Firmus Chorale in Moscow, Idaho.
Alongside her performance career, Kayla has assisted for many years with music camps, honor choirs, and church choir programs. She loves to teach almost as much as she loves to sing and aims to develop not only her students' technique, but their language, musicianship, and performance. Above all, she believes that our voices are living instruments that must always be tuned to glorify God and bless one another.

Caleb Esmond, MM
Lecturer of Music
Caleb Esmond is Lecturer of Music at New Saint Andrews College, where he teaches and conducts the NSA Chorale. He is an active performer, experienced collaborator, skilled improviser, jazz pianist, and prize-winning composer. He is a current Doctoral Candidate (DMA) in Piano Performance at the University of North Texas has a field related to choral conducting.
Mr. Esmond received his MM in Piano Performance and Pedagogy at Utah State University in 2023 and his BM in Piano Performance from Mercer University in 2021. He is a Nationally Certified Teacher of Music (NCTM).
He lives in Moscow with his wife, Madeleine, and their daughter.

Gabriel Gollehon
Piano Instructor
Gabriel received his BA in Liberal Arts & Culture from New Saint Andrews College in 2018 and his Certificate of Music from the Conservatory of Music. He currently teaches Vocal Tech for New Saint Andrews. He regularly accompanies and sings with choirs around town, is the music minister at Kings Cross Church, and teaches piano for the Conservatory. He has been a solo vocalist with the New Saint Andrews Choir and the ACCS National Honor Choir. Gabriel lives in Moscow with his wife, Allegra, and their three daughters.

Cassandra Hale
Piano Instructor
Cassandra Hale studied piano, flute, and voice at North Idaho College and the University of Idaho and has more than 25 years of experience teaching piano to students of all ages. She has also taught music history, choir, art, and dance classes for homeschool co-ops and private studios. When she’s not sharing her love of piano with her students or accompanying worship services, Cassandra is probably busy cooking, playing games with her family, or planning her next travel adventure.

Ann Gabrielle Henning, DMA
Voice Instructor
Dr. Anne Henning currently acts as Instructor of Voice at New Saint Andrews College. She previously served as Director of Music Research and Graduate Professor of Historical Vocal Pedagogy and Vocal Studies at the University of Mobile (Alabama), Assistant Professor of Voice and Director of Opera at Troy University (Alabama), and Instructor of Voice and Piano at the International School of Music (Washington, DC).
Dr. Henning completed her DMA and MM degrees in Vocal Performance and Pedagogy from The University of Southern Mississippi (Hattiesburg, MS), and her double BA in Music and French from Millsaps College (Jackson, MS). Additionally, she holds a conducting certificate and a cognate master's in music history. A published scholar, Dr. Henning commands a rising presence in the Schopenhauer-Wagner discussion space. In 2021, she published “The Music Monograph,” which has become a recommended text for doctoral dissertation candidates in universities nationwide.
A lyric coloratura soprano, Dr. Henning has performed over 40 mainstage opera and musical theatre roles with regional, B, and A houses across the States, as well as sung in London, Vienna, Munich, and Szeged. She specializes in crossover disciplines and particularly enjoys jazz and extended vocal techniques. Her upcoming engagements include a concert series with Rota Classical Occasions in Cadiz, Spain, as well as a masterclass with Opera Seville's outreach program. She is excited about exploring vocal pedagogy as a uniquely holistic integration of God's creative expressions, and her methods have been praised for their quick but grounded results, approachable flexibility, and common-sense yet empowering framing.
She is a blessed homeschooling mom to three young children, a loving wife to a US Navy officer, an avid international cook and traveler, and a certified level 3 Natural Horsemanship clinician. She speaks six languages, including Hungarian, and co-founded US BattleSpeak, a survival language program approved by the Pentagon and DLI East and West, designed to support emergency Arabic, Dari, and Farsi readiness for troops deployed to the Middle East.

Helen Howell
Bagpipes Instructor
Helen Howell has been a piper for nearly twenty years and has enjoyed every minute. She learned to play as a member of the world-championship pipe band The High Desert Pipes and Drums in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, also taking private lessons from long-time recognized pipe major Joseph Brennan. She has competed regionally in both band and solo events, performed in a variety of venues both in a group and as a soloist, and has taught beginning pipers for many years. She hopes to provide her students with an appreciation of pipe music in its various forms, excellent technique and understanding of the unique musical skills required, and preparation for local performances and competitions, as requested.

Jered Kostenko
Piano Instructor Organ Instructor
Jered earned a Masters in Music from Washington State University in 2013 with emphases in composition and piano performance. He continues to serve at WSU as a collaborative pianist for students, faculty, and visiting professional artists. He has also accompanied extensively for music festivals, adjudications, concerts, and competitions. While enrolled at WSU, Jered also played orchestral piano for the WSU and Washington-Idaho Symphonies.
A resident of Pullman, Washington since 2011, Jered owns and operates his own music studio, offering instruction in piano, composition, improvisation, and music theory. He welcomes students of all ages and abilities, and has also successfully instructed children with disabilities and behavioral disorders.
Jered has served as the incumbent organist and minister of music for the Pullman Presbyterian Church since 2015. He has also performed organ works on a regular basis for church services, weddings, and funerals since his appointment at PPC.
An avid composer, Jered has written for piano, voice, solo instrumental, small chamber, and wind ensemble. He is currently setting to music the Bible texts foundational to all the major Protestant doctrines. These Scripture songs are intended for devotional, instructional, and missionary application. Jered also offers a number of Christian piano instrumental albums, and has toured the Pacific Northwest with performances of these compositions.
Jered has also engraved a significant number of works for clients, arranged choral music for church choir, and played for civic events in the Palouse area. He believes that music is both an act of service to others and a sublime way to give homage to the Lord Jesus.

Ross Leavitt
Saxophone and Clarinet Instructor
Ross Leavitt is known for passionate interpretations of both original saxophone works and transcriptions of music written for other instruments. He completed undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan with Donald Sinta. He has also studied with Timothy McAllister, James Bunte, and David Camwell.
He won the University of Michigan and Interlochen concerto competitions, was named a Presidential Scholar in the Arts by the White House and a Yamaha Young Performing Artist by Yamaha, was featured in the Metroarts Young Artists Concerto Concert in Portland, Oregon, and was a finalist in the National MTNA Woodwind Competition.
He teaches with a strong emphasis on the fundamentals of tone production, and aims to teach his students to love making music as much as he does.

Alyssa Matangelo
Voice Instructor
Alyssa Matangelo is a senior at New Saint Andrews College, currently pursuing her Bachelor’s in Liberal Arts & Culture and her Certificate of Music from the Conservatory of Music. She has taken piano and voice lessons at New Saint Andrews College for the past three years, received two levels of Kodály teacher certification, and had the opportunity to teach a beginner-level Kodály class in the spring of 2025. She plans to continue teaching music after graduation and to pursue her voice studies further.

Anna graduated with a BA in Liberal Arts & Culture and a Certificate of Music from New Saint Andrews College in 2025. She played with both the Arkansas Symphony Youth Orchestra and the band at Arkansas State University Beebe throughout junior high and high school, and played with the NSA orchestra from 2021 to 2025. She has directed a community choir and taught both beginner piano and beginner to intermediate flute lessons.
When not playing music, Anna enjoys crafting and experimenting with cooking.

Mark Reagan, DMA
French Horn and Composition Instructor
Composer and conductor Mark Reagan is a native of Michigan. He earned his DMA in choral conducting at University of Iowa (2017). Reagan’s principle teachers include Timothy Stalter, Lori Wiest, David Puderbaugh, and Jere Hutcheson and he holds additional music degrees from Washington State University, Michigan State University, and Taylor University. He has held college teaching positions at New Saint Andrews College, Washington State University, and University of Iowa and has taught in classical education for over a decade. His psalm compositions and arrangements are published in the Cantus Christi 2020 hymnal and choral works with Paraclete Press (2019). Reagan is the Director of Music at Christ Church, Moscow, Idaho, where he also directs Music Festival Palouse. He is married to Corinne and has four children Claude, Madeline, Phoebe, and Peter.

Corinne Reagan (NSA ‘06) has taught piano and worked as a choir accompanist in various parts of the the US for 20 years. In addition to her piano studio, she teaches elementary music at Logos School. She is passionate about making music literacy accessible and normal for every child. She and Dr. Mark Reagan have four young children and live in Moscow, ID.

Joshua Roberts

Joshua Roberts was born in Aguascalientes, Mexico, the fifth child of missionary parents. He graduated from New Saint Andrews College in 2019 with a BA in Liberal Arts & Culture and in 2020 with a Certificate of Music. Joshua also completed his Kodály Certification at New Saint Andrews College Conservatory of Music in 2019. He has served as assistant choir director for three years at Trinity Reformed Church in Moscow, Idaho. He is a recorder instructor for the Conservatory of Music at New Saint Andrews College in Moscow, Idaho.
Joshua loves making music with friends and has even started a funk/soul band with some of them. Besides music, he is an avid lover of good food, language, and good storytelling.

Mark Shockey
Piano Instructor
A husband and father of eight, Mark Shockey began playing and studying the piano at the age of six. He studied for years with his mother, Eleanor Shockey, and began studies with the late Dr. Samuel Hsu at the age of fifteen, with whom he continued during his undergraduate work at Cairn University in Langhorne, PA. He has bachelor’s degrees in piano performance and Bible from Cairn University, and has since taught piano to students of all ages and abilities. He has also given full-length recitals every two or three years, and has collaborated with and accompanied all sorts of soloists and ensembles. Mark also has studied voice and choral conducting. For six years, he was Music Director and organist at St. Paul’s Reformed Episcopal Church in Oreland, PA, after which he held the same position at Hope Lutheran Church in Levittown, PA for eleven years. Mark has been New Saint Andrews College’s primary accompanist for the last four years.

George Turner
Trombone Instructor
George Turner taught music theory and low brass at Northwest Nazarene University for 48 years and is currently an adjunct instructor at New Saint Andrews, where he teaches Trombone. He has also been an adjunct Trombone instructor at Boise State University and College of Idaho. He holds an MA in Trombone Performance from the University of Denver and doctoral studies at Arizona State University. He studied trombone with Ed Kleinhammer, Tasso Harris, and Gail Wilson.
Professor Turner joined the Musician’s Union as a teenager and has since performed as a freelance trombonist in orchestra, opera, ballet, and Broadway Musicals. He has also performed with a wide variety of pop, rock, and jazz artists.

Cole Tutino, DM
Cello Faculty
Dr. Cole Tutino is Lecturer in Music and New Saint Andrews College, where he teaches cello, music theory, and orchestra. He was previously Visiting Assistant Professor of Cello at Miami University in Oxford, OH, and Visiting Instructor of Cello at Luther College in Decorah, IA.
Dr. Tutino has performed extensively as a soloist, chamber musician, orchestral player, and recording artist. He has been principal of the Richmond Symphony Orchestra (IN) and a member of the Columbus Indiana Philharmonic and the Terre Haute Symphony Orchestra. As a chamber musician, he has been a member of the Oxford String Quartet, and the Luther College Piano Quartet. His solo appearances include performances with the Richmond Symphony Orchestra, the Cedarville University Orchestra, the Miami University Symphony Orchestra, and the Luther College Philharmonia. He has spent summers playing at the New Hampshire Music Festival, the Utah Festival Opera, the National Orchestral Institute, the Brevard Music Festival, the Mendocino Music Festival, and the Las Vegas Music Festival.
A proponent of a diverse array of musical genres, Dr. Tutino’s activities have included Baroque performance practice, new music, and folk and pop music. He has performed on Baroque cello with the Indiana University Baroque Orchestra, the Georgina Joshi Handel Project, and as part of the Bloomington Bach Cantata Project. At the conference of the Christian Fellowship of Art Music Composers, he premiered David Canfield’s Sonata for Cello and Piano, a composition that musically depicts the Christian tenets of salvation. He has also recorded with My Soul Among Lions and the Good Shepherd Band.

Grace Ann VanderPloeg
Piano Instructor
Grace Ann VanderPloeg is a junior at New Saint Andrews College. She has played piano for thirteen years and enjoys accompaniment and chamber music as well as solo playing. She has two years of Kodály teacher training under her belt and one year of piano teaching experience.
When she isn’t inside with the instruments, she loves being outdoors and trying her hand at any sport you throw at her.
