Trombone Instructor

Biography

George Turner taught music theory and low brass at Northwest Nazarene University for 48 years and is currently an adjunct instructor at New Saint Andrews, where he teaches Trombone. He has also been an adjunct Trombone instructor at Boise State University and College of Idaho. He holds an MA in Trombone Performance from the University of Denver and doctoral studies at Arizona State University. He studied trombone with Ed Kleinhammer, Tasso Harris, and Gail Wilson.

Professor Turner joined the Musician’s Union as a teenager and has since performed as a freelance trombonist in orchestra, opera, ballet, and Broadway Musicals. He has also performed with a wide variety of pop, rock, and jazz artists.
